GETTING TO CAMP
Situated on 80 acres of land, nestled in the trees at about 6,000 feet up in the San Bernadino mountains, in Running Springs located just outside of Big Bear.
The Dovid Oved Retreat Center offers a full range of services, resources and accommodations, in the perfect setting to relax, refresh and reflect (and have fun!).

Virtually all structures are climate controlled for year-round use, and includes lighting for evening play.

Timing: Check in is from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2023. Camp ends between 4:00 pm - 5:00pm on Sunday, June 18.

What's Included?Your registration cost covers your rooming, all meals and programs for the entire retreat. All prices include four days of spirited and fun programming, delicious meals, great indoor & outdoor activities, arts & crafts, and entertainment.

How Does the Registration Process Work?You'll fill out a quick application to register. All applications are reviewed to ensure participants fit our demographics, for security, and for health & safety purposes.

Can I go alone?Of course! Many campers don't know anyone when they arrive at camp, but leave with new friends! It's a really welcoming envirorment so it won't take long to get to know people.

Can I make housing requests?Yes you can. When you fill out your application, there's a place for you to include the names of people you'd like to room with.

Are the bunks co-ed?You'll get to have tons of time meeting and interacting with guys and gals. Cabins though, are same gender only. No co-ed cabins here! This helps to make sure that everyone is as comfortable as possible in their rooming assignments.

I'm not a huge drinker or party animal. Is this still for me?Absolutley! When you register we'll ask what your "party-style" is, so that we can try to room you with someone who is similar to you. Partiers or early-birds - unite!

What kind of Jewish background do Campers need to have?Camp Neshama campers come from all Jewish backgrounds. No hebrew school, no problem! Did you go to Yeshiva? Also cool! Camp is a place where Jews from all walks of life come together, connect, and have a blast. Just have a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t for your fellow Jew, and you'll help make Camp the really welcoming environment it's known for!

What should I pack?Normal camp items! Plus some other specific items. You'll be provided a suggested packing list ahead of time.

What is the food like?We strive to make all of our meals delicious and as healthy as possible. Our meals range from traditional family-style shabbat dinners, to pizza parties!

Is the food Kosher?Yes, all the food at Camp Neshama is Kosher, including all meals and snacks. At Camp Neshama 2023, all meals will be under the supervision of the RCC, as well as Glatt Kosher and Chalav Yisrael.

I'm a veggie or gluten intolerant. Will there be options for me?For sure! We try to have options to cater to a variety of diets and concerns. Typically, we have meat or dairy meals, and a veggie options (with gluten free options if it's needed). The best way to ensure we can make sure we meet your needs, is to fill out your requirements when you register.

Do I need to observe Shabbat at Camp?Camp Neshama has campers from all different Jewish backgrounds! Some campers observe Shabbat, while for others - Camp will be their first Shabbat experience! All Camp activities are Shabbat friendly, so everyone can participate. Some of these are super fun and silly! Like all activities at Camp, what you choose to do and not do, are up to you. We do encourage taking the special opportunity at Camp to disconnect - whatever that means to you. If that's a nice hike with fellow campers, or going stargazing, go for it. You do you.

Do you offer transportation or carpools?We help campers connect with other campers, so that you can carpool to to camp! Once you register, you'll gain access to our Camp Neshama Carpool group. If you've got a set of wheels, you can be a mensch and offer to give your fellow campers a ride to/from camp. Or, you can let others know that you're in search of a ride!

I'm driving to camp. Is there somewhere to park my car?Yes! We have dedicated parking for Campers on the camp grounds, and parking is free.

What are your Covid Protocols?Camp will adhere to the rules of the Dovid Oved Retreat Center, Running Springs, and the State of California. Campers may need to complete a PCR or Rapid test prior to Camp. Camp Neshama also reserves the right to do rapid tests on site. Subject to change
