Breakout Jewish African-American Musician to Perform at Leading Jewish Annual Retreat over Labor Day Weekend

Young Adult Retreat re-defines community and creates unity, from the trailblazers behind Jewlicious Festivals and Camp Jewlicious.

Los Angeles, CA — Internationally-acclaimed musician Oryahh, a breakthrough African-American Jewish artist, will take the stage and lead a workshop at Camp Neshama for a moving performance and innovative workshop, featuring songs in Hebrew and English.

Presented by Pico Shul, Shabbat Tent, and Kesher YP’s, the retreat will take place from September 2 - 5, 2022 — four days and three nights — at the 2,800 acre Brandeis Bardin Campus in Simi Valley, CA.

“Music is a crucial part of Jewish life, and we are excited to bring Oryahh to California,” said Rabbi Yonah Bookstein, co-director of Camp Neshama. “Over the years we have featured many artists such as Matisyahu, Pato Banton, Moshav, Kosha Dillz — and nothing compares to live performances by passionate and talented artists to create a feeling of joy and unity.”

Oryahh, a 23-year-old artist from Florida, believes in creating original Jewish music that you can feel; participants at Camp Neshama will vibe with a Saturday Night concert, along with a special workshop about transforming one's passion for music into a career.

Camp Neshama was established in 2016, following the multi-year success of Jewlicious Festivals and Camp Jewlicious.

Known as a getaway weekend where young Jews from all backgrounds, from across America, come together to celebrate their identity and have fun, while making meaningful connections with each other and to something deeper. Neshama, meaning “soul” in Hebrew, offers a uniquely spirited and soulful experience which creates unity, taking place in 2022 just before the Jewish new year.
